Jacy L. Pawelek
Biography
Jacy L. Pawelek is a trial attorney at Janicek Law Firm, where she represents plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice cases throughout Texas. Her practice is focused on serious injury and wrongful death matters, many of which involve complex liability issues, multiple defendants, and aggressive defense strategies.
Since becoming licensed in 2021, Jacy has built a practice centered on high-stakes litigation. She regularly handles cases involving corporate defendants, insurance carriers, and governmental entities, and is experienced in navigating issues such as premises liability, negligent entrustment, catastrophic motor vehicle collisions, and recreational and ranch-related incidents. Her work often involves developing legal strategies that address both direct and vicarious liability theories, including nuanced issues like vice-principal liability and statutory defenses.
Jacy is actively involved in every phase of litigation—from pre-suit investigation and case development through discovery, depositions, mediation, dispositive motion practice, and trial. She has significant experience drafting and arguing complex motions, including summary judgment, and building cases designed to withstand appellate scrutiny. She is known for her strategic, aggressive advocacy and meticulous preparation in high-pressure litigation, always with a focus on positioning her cases for maximum leverage and meaningful results.
She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and New Mexico and handles matters in courts throughout the region.
Jacy earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she developed a strong foundation in trial advocacy and litigation strategy. She received her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Texas State University.
She is an active member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Outside of her legal practice, Jacy remains closely connected to her family’s ranching operation, Palahala Ranch, where she spends time working with and caring for exotic wildlife. She enjoys spending time outdoors, working with animals, and being involved in the continued growth of the ranch, with a particular interest in animal breeding and the development of high-quality bloodlines, and values the hands-on work and long-term commitment that come with it.
Jacy also enjoys spending time with her dogs, Gwen and Gunner, and following college basketball—she rarely misses a game when the Texas Tech Red Raiders are playing.
