Biography

Joy Barrientes is a trial attorney at Janicek Law who focuses her practice on healthcare liability litigation, including medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and wrongful death cases. Her experience litigating both trial and appellate matters provides her with a comprehensive perspective on how healthcare claims are evaluated and defended at every stage of litigation.

A graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law, Joy has been named one of San Antonio’s Outstanding Women in Law. She is deeply committed to representing individuals and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. She works closely with each client to learn their story to ensure it is powerfully presented.

Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, Joy now proudly calls San Antonio home. Outside the courtroom, she enjoys tackling DIY home projects and attempting to grow flowers in her garden. When she needs a break from the office, you can find her fishing along the Texas coast with her family and dog, Lady.
