Biography

Beth Janicek is the Founder and Lead Attorney of Janicek Law Firm, P.C. For more than three decades, she has represented families in San Antonio and throughout Texas facing the life-altering consequences of medical malpractice, birth injuries, obstetrical negligence, maternal injury, and wrongful death.

Beth is Board-Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law — a distinction earned by only a small percentage of attorneys in Texas. Board Certification reflects substantial trial experience, judicial and peer evaluation, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in advocacy. As a Board-Certified trial lawyer, she prepares complex medical malpractice, birth injury, and wrongful death cases with the expectation that they may be presented to a jury. It is one of the most meaningful credentials a trial lawyer can achieve.

She is also a member of the invitation-only American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an elite organization of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to preserving the civil jury trial system. Membership is reserved for attorneys who have demonstrated significant courtroom experience, professionalism, and integrity.

In 2026, Beth was honored as the recipient of the Lady Liberty Award by the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association — a recognition bestowed by her fellow trial lawyers and judiciary. Being selected by her peers makes this honor especially meaningful and reflects the deep respect she has earned within the legal community for her trial work in high-stakes medical negligence and wrongful death cases.

Additionally, Beth was named one of America’s top 100 medical malpractice litigators. Less than one-half percent (0.5%) of active attorneys in the United States will receive this honor — truly the most exclusive and elite level of litigators in the community.

A native of West Texas, Beth completed high school in San Antonio before earning her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. She returned to San Antonio to receive her law degree from St. Mary’s University and founded her firm in 2003 with a clear and enduring purpose: to advocate for families navigating catastrophic and preventable harm and to hold healthcare institutions accountable when standards of care are violated.

Outside the courtroom, Beth’s competitive spirit and loyalty are just as evident. She is a devoted fan of the San Antonio Spurs and an especially passionate supporter of Texas A&M Athletics. Game days in College Station remain one of her favorite traditions. When she is not cheering on the Aggies, she enjoys time on the tennis and pickleball courts.

Most importantly, Beth treasures time with her family. Her two sons are both married, and she delights in being a grandmother to her one-year-old grandson. Family remains at the center of her life — a perspective that continues to shape the compassion, steadiness, and resolve she brings to the families she serves.

I lost my son, Zayden—the greatest love of my life. My other son, Zy, witnessed the unimaginable that day. He carries those memories with him every single day, and we are forever grateful that he is still here because we very easily could have lost him too. Our family didn't just experience a tragedy—we experienced trauma that changed us forever. When I first met the team at Janicek Law, I wasn't just grieving. I was broken. I was a mother trying to survive the unthinkable while helping my surviving son heal from something no child should ever witness. I didn't know if I had the strength to keep fighting. There were so many moments when I wanted to give up. Every deposition, every conversation, every piece of evidence forced me to relive the worst day of my life. I told them I couldn't do it anymore. But they never let me forget why we were fighting. They reminded me that Zayden deserved justice. They reminded me that Zy deserved justice.
