Thousands of women in the United States have been implanted with the Essure permanent birth control device. Many women have experienced complications and injuries due to the Essure device, including persistent pain.
The FDA recently confirmed that the Essure device is “associated with serious risks including persistent pain, perforation of the uterus and fallopian tubes, and migration of the coils into the pelvis or abdomen”.
Essure was marketed as a permanent birth control device. Women underwent surgery in which coils were inserted into the fallopian tubes. The coils would then create a blockage that would prevent the passage of an egg from the ovary. This method of birth control is associated with numerous adverse events. Significant numbers of women have needed surgery to remove the device.
If you have undergone implantation of the Essure device and have had pain, removal of the device, or other complications, you should contact an attorney immediately to determine if Essure is liable for your injuries. The Janicek Law Firm is currently reviewing new cases involving Essure injuries and is committed to protecting the rights of women everywhere.
